The Ehsan Yarshater Lectures (SOAS, London).
The Ehsan Yarshater Lectures in Persian Art and Archeology was established at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London in 1994. The series, held biennially, consist of four lectures on a single theme to be delivered by a single scholar. The lectures represent original research or synthesis on any aspect of Iranian art (including music, calligraphy, and folk art) or archeology from prehistoric times to the present. The biennial Yarshater Lectures in Persian Art at the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies are sponsored by the Persian Heritage Foundation. Each presents a series of academic lectures dedicated to a subject in the field of Iranian art and culture and intended to be published subsequently in book form. The lectures and publications carry the name of Professor Ehsan Yarshater in recognition of his scholarly achievements and contributions to Iranian Studies.
The Ehsan Yarshater Lectures on Persian Literature was established in 2015 to cover any aspect of Persian literature, with the same format and venue as the Lectures in Persian Art and Archeology. The lectures are intended to be held biennially, in alternating years with the Lectures in Persian Art and Archeology.
The collected lectures are also published in book form as appropriate.
